Wrightsville Beach
Wrightsville Beach is a special place for both the
resident and the visitor and is quite unlike the
commercial beaches that often come to mind when one
thinks of the coast. For nearly a century, the 5-mile
long island has been a retreat from the summer heat for
residents of Wilmington.
Boaters, sun worshippers, swimmers, surfers and anglers
will find much to appreciate and enjoy. Public beach
access points, liberally sprinkled along the shoreline,
make a day in the sun a free experience. |

Figure
Eight Island
Figure Eight Island, just north of Wrightsville Beach,
is a private, very exclusive, oceanfront resort
community. The island includes a yacht club, a marina,
tennis courts and a boat ramp. The island is connected
to the mainland by a causeway bridge, and a guard will
let you onto the island only if you've called ahead to
someone on the island, and are on the list at the gate.

Bald Head
Island
Four miles off the coast of Southport and the mainland,
at the mouth of the Cape Fear River, is the Island of
Bald Head. Bald Head Island is now an affluent
residential and resort community of 215 year-round
residents. It can only be reached by the island's
private ferry or personal boat. The island is graciously
open to the public, and the summer population can reach
more than 3,000 with visitors renting vacation homes and
playing golf. |

Brunswick
County Southport
Southport is a quaint, seaside town that offers numerous
restaurants, antique shops and historic sites. Along the
west side of the Cape Fear River mouth, Southport is
reachable by both ferry and scenic highway.
Southport, listed on the National Register of Historic
Places, is ranked by Rand McNally as one of the most
desirable places to retire in the United States. |

Pender
County Topsail Island
Topsail Island is a 26-mile long barrier island
approximately 30 minutes north of Wilmington. The island
is located in both Onslow and Pender counties and
consists of three towns: North Topsail, Surf City, and
Topsail Beach. |

Carolina
Beach
Carolina Beach, just 30 minutes from downtown Wilmington
by car, is on a narrow slip of land between the Cape
Fear River and the Atlantic Ocean. The busy central
business district is centered around an active yacht
basin containing a large number of charter fishing boats
and large excursion boats. At the extreme northern end
of the island, the beach is open only to four-wheel
drive vehicles. Carolina Beach also offers one of the
few state parks in the region. For a modest fee, you can
camp and enjoy the wonders of nature. |
|
Kure
Beach
To the south, Carolina Beach merges into the town of
Kure Beach. Once upon a time, some of the best real
estate deals could be found in Kure Beach, but today the
sleepy beach town is fast growing in popularity and
price. A permanent population of 1,500 residents makes
for a very close community. |

|
Landfall
Landfall is one of the Carolinas' premier private
communities. Located along the Intracoastal Waterway in
North Carolina, Landfall is just minutes from both
historic Wilmington and charming Wrightsville Beach. At
the heart of this prestigious gated community are 45
holes of championship golf, 27 designed by Jack Nicklaus
and 18 designed by Pete Dye. You will also find two
elegant and fully equipped clubhouses, with 14 tennis
courts and an Olympic-sized pool. |

Parkside
| Single Family Traditional Designs found in Charleston,
SC
Parkside at Mayfaire is a place for and about people.
Common sense planning was revived to create the kind of
neighborhood that, in earlier times, provided the best
loved parts of town: beautiful streetscapes with trees
and sidewalks, homes with spacious front porches, a
public garden and fountain, alley way access to garages,
ponds and playgrounds. |
|
Town
Center
The Mayfaire Town Center community brings a vital and
enchanting living, shopping and working environment, the
first of its kind to the Wilmington area. In fact, the
Retail Center is sure to become a pivotal destination
for upscale retail services. Here, residents can walk,
browse and shop all day among national and local
restaurants and merchants along a traditional "Main
Street," with storefronts facing bustling sidewalks and
public squares. The Town Center seeks to balance a "walkable"
neighborhood with the demand for modern residential and
business services, all the conveniences that people
expect to lead productive lives today. |
